McBaby Page
Yes, it is true. Soon, there will be a little baby McSpeed racing around the house! After eight wonderful years of being "just the two of us", our lives are getting ready to change. I am already trying to figure out how to squeeze a baby seat into the Vettes!!!!!!!!! Follow along, as our little dot on the ultra sound picture turns into a little bouncing baby boy!
Karol Bently painted this AWESOME mural of Snoopy cruising in our KILLER Vette, and as the Red Barron in the sky! THANKS KAROL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His first car!!!! We will call it the "G ROD" (Garrett's Rod). It is from www.aeroglass.com. My buddy Tom Seymore gave me the body. He bought it from a swap meet and later decided not to build it. We made the frame from a hand truck with a homemade full functional front suspension (I will be able to add a steering wheel when he is older). The rear tires are 10" and front are 8" (tube tires). One of my co-workers (Leslie Shannahan) donated the seat. After a few whacks with the saw, it was a perfect fit. Nikki found the cool flame fabric for the seat. It is not 100% finished yet. She is still working on the seat and I have to add a set of headlights. I think he...or I mean "I", will really enjoy pushing him around in this machine. Click on the picure for a larger view.
I guess little Garrett had all he could of waiting inside of momma. He saw fit to break his water at about 4:45 Monday morning 3/15/04. Nikki didn't really feel any labor pain until around 4:30 that afternoon. At 8:10 p.m. Garrett came out and said hello. The first picture here is of Nikki that same morning.
Oops, my water broke!!!!!!
Waiting..........................
PUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Three weeks old!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to approval from NHTSA and a retro passenger Air Bag disconnect kit from General Motors, Garrett is now set for his first ride in Nikki's C5. The Graco car seat is firmly secured in the reverse position with the optional hook straps anchored to the vehicle. This eliminates the need to use the standard passenger belt. I installed the Air Bag disconnect according to General Motors guidelines as seen here in this LINK. Nikki seems happy to kiss the Grand Am goodbye for a while. Can you blame her?
Now we are having some fun! Two months old and a pair of new shoes!

Okay...a few more weeks/months and EVERYTHING changes. Nikki's 2000 Corvette (although retrofitted for the child seat) is now gone. We traded it on a 2004 Buick Rendevouz Ultra. While it is a far cry from a Vette...it sure is a sweet way of getting around town in style. Speaking of Corvettes, check out Garrett's new Corvette outfit! Thanks to Kurt & Renee Anderson, Garrett is dressed in a new race red Cross Flag outfit!
Four Months Old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It has been a while since I made any updates here. Thought I would throw in some quick videos of the baby boy!
19 Months......TWO is just around the corner now!
Our little helper. These two pictures were NOT staged. He really picked up the wetsand block and started sanding!
